Kikondo, UG – GRY family welcomes their home water standpipe – 30 Jul 2021

Mama GRY is delighted because she saved enough in a year to install a home water standpipe for her family. She is very grateful to the Village Community Banking (VICOBA) group called Zinabala, because her fellow members gave her the discipline to save the money regularly.

She succeeded in saving US$ 140 / 500,000 UGS for the system, which is now improving her family’s health and quality of life by giving them easier access to clean water for drinking, cooking, washing and cleaning.

The family now dreams of using water for growing vegetables, but they have no suitable land. Therefore, Mama GRY is planning to stick to saving of US$ 140 / 500,000 UGS during the coming year. Her plan is to rent land for home and market gardening so that she can feed her family better and also increase their income.
