The LY family are small scale farmers who have been working hard for many years to realize their dream of a comfortable home. They are now close to qualifying for a rent-to-own home in Peaksneng, Cambodia.
Over time, the family has been able to meet more of the basic needs of clean water, nutrition, health care, education, clothing and shelter. Their greatest achievement remains their original Food Always In The Home (FAITH) garden because it enabled them to start growing sufficient food and increase their income in small steps. This has enabled them to support their children going to school, and have them grow up healthy, strong and motivated. Their children’s growth has inspired LY and her husband, and given them more confidence and sense of purpose.
The family has always displayed courage when facing the challenges of severe dry seasons, pests and low market prices for vegetables. They will need this courage more than ever now as they face the Coronavirus pandemic.
