Utete, TZ – YPM family garden update – 19 Aug 2013

The YPM vegetable garden is notable because it has wide pathways between the beds.  The vegetables are getting established, especially the local spinach called mchicha that is growing very  fast and should be ready to harvest in a week.

YPM loves tending to her garden and enjoys teaching their young daughter, who is 12 years old, to care for it with her.  The dry season’s scorching sun makes the beds more dry than normal, so the KCM garden shop has advised them to maintain mulch on each bed.
