Kilimanjaro, TZ – Shop team and “Lighthouse” family assist neighbor – 15 June 2021

The Lishe Bora garden shop team and one of Lishe Bora’s long-standing “Lighthouse” families is assisting the EBM family to rebuild their home vegetable garden beds and possibly expand the garden.

The shop team assisted the family to build their original garden many years ago, and the shop’s Anna has been providing mentoring support. This includes assistance with reforming the garden beds, advice about which plants grow best, and supply of seeds and compost.

EBM Family has only a small area to grow their vegetables, which is the case for many families in the area. Lishe Bora shop’s demonstration garden will be used to test the sustainability of any new crop rotation schedules for the family. Since EBM family live near to MGA family, they plan to learn what schedules have worked best from Mr and Mrs MGA because they have over five years of experience maintaining a sustainable family garden.
