Ngara, TZ – ES business growth is taking another step towards self reliance – Nov 2024
Onesmo has just traveled a long way to visit David, his team and ES in Ngara. ES is an entrepreneur who has combined her culinary skills with business acumen to build a sustainable source of income. Her journey reflects determination, strategic investment, and community engagement.
ES is a talented chef and an ambitious entrepreneur who has successfully merged her culinary skills with a keen sense of business. She runs a food-selling operation at the market, where she makes a steady profit of 30,000 TZS per auction market day. Her catering team serves in the community events, earning up to 300,000 TZS per day through cooking tender in weddings, graduations, funerals, Birthdays and other gatherings. This entrepreneurial spirit has brought her recognition for her unique food delivery to customers during market days.
ES bought land worth 1,000,000 TZS in the Kanazi market, measuring 10 meters by 5 meters, for the future construction of two commercial rooms: one for her catering services, and the other for renting out as an additional income source. She achieved this by reinvesting the profits from her food sales and catering services, saving 20,000 TZS to MVG Vicoba, and has helped to multiply her earnings by sharing profits from loan interest levy.
The ES business is currently operating in a rented commercial space paying 40,000 TZS per month. The challenge lies in her ongoing rent payments, which she hopes to eliminate by building her own commercial house on the land she has acquired.
This construction costs 2.5 million TZS for the two rooms to be fully built. Achieving this will create a sustainable income stream for home improvements, children’s better education, and ensure her catering business’s long-term growth toward success.
