Moshi, TZ – Successful corn growing brings more success – 31 Mar 2022
It was a very difficult weather situation during this planting seasons of 2022. The rains had been so much delayed and the temperature has been on average of 32 degree centigrade while the children and parents have been struggling to plant and water the corn for their own school breakfast.
Tupendane was observing the community’s energy flow during these moments of hard working, and created a strategic promise of another benefit to the schools for working through these moments.
The promise was support of free storage barrels for the harvested corn, as a result of a good success of planting and raising of the new corn through these hardest climatic conditions. The positive energy among the teachers, children, parents and government leaders were all boosted to the maximum as they were wishing for their good corn growing with an extra incentive of receiving the free storage barrels for their best expected harvest.
As we are moving forward towards achieving sustainability for the school feeding program, we see that the community’s energy from a feeling of ownership for the program is one of the key factors for success. Tupendane is excited about this and wishing to continue this model of leveraging community ownership energy to accomplish a lot of impact with few resources.
