Kikondo, UG – Zinabala completes business development training – 15 Apr 2021
Wamukisa provided Zinabala VICOBA group with business development training. Over the course of the training, the group developed five business concepts and plans for the next steps in funding and development.
Zinabala was formed by families to assist them to increase their incomes by providing a safe savings account and reasonable interest rate loans. Back in 2020, Wamukisa canvased the members about their wants and needs. They said that they wanted to learn how to start and manage a business. This kick-started Wamukisa’s organizational empowerment series that trains members in business development, accounting, and planning.
Originally, the plan was for each member to develop and start a business. However, during the training the members decided that they could attain more if they funded and worked together. So instead of developing upwards of twenty eight partially funded individual businesses, the group is focusing on five to ten business ideas. The members will present their case for each business and why they believe their VICOBA should provide a startup loan.
Wamukisa received positive feedback following the course, and now plans to streamline it in order to meet the community’s requests for training. The organization even plans to pitch their own training idea in order to find a loan to support rapid training and development of their organizational empowerment series. Perhaps using a presentation and video training.
