Utete TZ – KCM employee proves his business success and recieves loan – 15 June 2019
Dickson Taji finished his Toyo business trial and proved that the business can be financially sustainable. This qualified him to receive a loan for a new Toyo, which he purchased this month.
A year after beginning to focus on proving his Toyo business can be successful, Dickson showed he could consistently meet his income targets and cover the lifecycle costs of the business. This includes paying for operating expenses like fuel and oil as well as saving for maintenance, repairs, and for eventually buying a new Toyo. His hard work qualified him for a loan to puchase a new toyo for 4.8 Million TZS ($2124 USD).
Dickson hopes the new Toyo will be a first step towards financial self-reliance and he will be able to make a sustainbale income while filling a need in his community.
Dickson used KCM’s Toyo for his business trial. While using KCM’s toyo, he built up many contacts and customers. However, due to a weak engine, KCM’s toyo couldn’t handle all of the available work. With the brand new Toyo, Dickson is able to carry heavy items over greater distances, sometimes even a whole cow!
His current challenge is finding more customers and growing the radius of his business. Utete area is spread out, so Dickson must be very advantageous if he is to reach his business targets.
He hopes to repay his loan in 4 years and, with his current knowledge of auto-mechanics, open up a small spare parts store for other motor vehicles to expand his income.
