Battambang, KH – CP increases income and saves for children’s transportation – 31 Mar 2017
The CP family are working on ways to increase their income outside of Mr. CP’s salary from working with the Healthy Life Garden Shop. They keep cattle, chickens and have started a small store in order to save enough money to buy a small scooter for their children to go to school safely and efficiently.
The family have built a chicken house that homes up to 100 organic chickens. This enterprise can earn them up to US$300 in three months. Mrs. CP has also started a small shop where she sells fish, wild vegetables, eggs and their organic chickens.
The income from these new ventures goes towards general living expenses with any excess saved towards buying an additional scooter for their children to get to school. Three of CP’s six children attend a school thirty minutes drive from their home. CP takes them to school each morning before he heads to work and the children have to stay at school until he can collect them. This can be quite late. With another scooter, the children could come home straight after school. This would give them more time to study before they do their chores.
