Ngara, TZ – Garden shop employee laying foundation to raise a healthy family in their home – 18 Oct 2016
SODAT garden shop employee Elias continues to lay a strong foundation to support his future family. He has completed his home and is now beginning to strengthen it with cement, improve his farm, and start a chicken-rearing project at home.
Elias, 21, married his wife Anna in June 2016. Elias finished building the walls to their house just in time for the wedding. Now he has saved money to lay a cement floor and cover the walls with cement so they last longer. Once he finishes improving his home, he plans to start a chicken project at home. He is already collecting construction materials and buying chickens whenever he saves enough money from vegetable sales to purchase another one. So far he has six chickens. Elias has also arranged about 100 eucalyptus seedlings and 200 coffee coffee seedlings which he plans to plant as soon as the rainy season begins.
Anna studied sewing and hopes to earn enough money to purchase a sewing machine so she can bring in additional income for the family.
Although they just married, Elias and Anna are eager to start a family together and they want to make sure they are fully capable of caring for their children’s basic needs.
