Siem Reap, KH – CC imitates brother and expands his organic vegetable garden – 10 Jun 2016
Mr. CC has imitated his brother, CWC, in expanding his organic vegetable garden in order to grow and sell more vegetables. This year, he was successful in growing a variety of different crops which allowed him to earn a consistent income to support his wife and six children.
CC grew holy basil, gourds, mint, and morning glory and has been able to earn US$15 a week from selling these crops over the past six months. He expanded his garden in order to grow more and bought a water pump from the income he earned so that he can water his crops more easily.
The increase in garden area has allowed CC to feed his family consistently and he has noticed that his children look healthier and are getting sick less because of their diet. He also noted that the garden has been great for his family’s relationship because they all work in it together and enjoy the fruits of their labor together.
The family was challenged by a variety of bugs this year and was grateful to learn a variety of pest repelling techniques from the Peaksneng Thormacheat garden shop including; natural sprays, companion planting, and pest repellent plants.
CC and his wife dream of sending their six children to school and are looking to raise pigs in order to earn enough money to do so.
