Utete, TZ – ATN family garden update – 19 Aug 2013

The mung beans in the ATN vegetable garden are growing faster than expected and the 3 beds of mchicha are nearing harvest time!  She has had challenges with termites eating away at some of the mulch and tomato stems, but the natural pesticide sprays have helped to control them.  The KCM garden shop has recommend that ATN change the mulch material to a material that the termites will not be attracted to, like banana leaves rather than brown grass.
