Moshi, TZ – Tupendane pilot farm update – 1 Aug 2013

The Tupendane pilot farm garden has had its beds rebuilt with compost and rice hull charcoal, so it has recovered from the flood damage and is beginning to produce quantities of vegetables again.  The farm is a good place for the families, who have vegetable gardens, to meet and discuss their successes and challenges.

The farm is growing kale to sell at the farm and also the local Friday market in Kahe.

The pilot farm was able to harvest dozens of pumpkins from its pumpkin patch, that looks like a small hill!
