Moshi, TZ – MMC family garden update – 1 Aug 2013

The MMC family has worked hard to get their garden productive again after some devastating floods this rainy season in May.  MMC was not angry about the flood because they have left his 4 acre farm with a higher water table allowing him to grow an extra crop of beans.

The family decided that they wanted to grow pumpkins, eggplants and many leafy greens such as; Kale, Cabbage, and Chinese Cabbage.  Since replanting in late June the MMC family vegetable garden has been flourishing and he was able to sell 3,000 TZS / US$ 2 worth of kale in the first week that it became ready to harvest!
