Siem Reap, KH – New guesthouse keeps Peaksneng Thormacheat moving on path to financial sustainability – 29 July 2019
Peaksneng Thormacheat finished construction of a new guesthouse in July. The guesthouse was built to serve the student groups that visit Peaksneng each year. Rey Diaz, Peaksneng Thormacheat’s manager, is also considering what other customers would enjoy staying in the community at the new facility.
In 2019 Peaksneng completed construction of:
- 2 dormitory style rooms
- 2 private rooms
- 2 full bathrooms
- Outdoor kitchen
- Outdoor dining area
Guests pay to stay at the guesthouse and the money supports Peaksneng Thormacheat’s community work. The new asset could be an important part of Peaksneng Thormacheat’s financial self-reliance, especially as Rey finds new customers. The guesthouse is in the middle of the Rent-To-Own community. The location offers lots of opportunities for guests to mingle with community members.
In the future, Rey hopes to invest in:
- Finish 2 rooftop patios
- Landscaping
- Nicer furniture to attract higher paying clients
Peaksneng Thormacheat and the whole Peaksneng community are excited about the economic and cultural opportunities the guesthouse presents.
