Kikondo, UG – Isaac sets an example for local children to help their parents maintain vegetable gardens – 1 Nov 2017

Wamukisa encourages children to take responsibility for tending their families’ vegetable gardens. Isaac is leading by example in this. His mother, Rose, works for Wamukisa. Since August Isaac has been tending his own vegetable garden, inspired by the work he sees his mother doing with Wamukisa’s commercial vegetable garden.

When Isaac harvests vegetables he either brings them home to share or sells them and buys school supplies like books, pencils, and erasers. His garden has improved from 3 small beds to 6 large and well-formed beds.
