Kahe, TZ – Improved cooking facility is one hygiene step in the strategy to improve primary school children’s health. – Sep 2024
At Tupendane, we firmly believe that food is fundamental to health and well-being. Our initiatives at Ginja Primary School have successfully established flourishing gardens, allowing children, teachers, and parents to cultivate their own fresh organic produce. This access to nutritious food has significantly improved the health, well-being, and academic performance of the students.
To maximize the benefits of these gardens and ensure more health building, Tupdendane proposed improvements for the food preparation environment, with a kitchen and Utensils, Tupendane through 2024 Hosting program was able to build a small roofed cooking area with a cement floor and move the Cook from cooking on the dirty floor open area with dust, wind , and no roof for sun and rains.
Introducing of the improved Cooking area facility has raise the level of the hygienical food preparations, But still few more challenges are observed like the health of the cook regarding to too much smoke from the local design of the stove available, this has create a need of the more improved proper kitchen with a modern economical , environmental and hygienical stove design in any time soon as possible.
Ultimately, this initiative will benefiting the family of the cook and over 400 children from the school.
