Utete, TZ – AOM’s lifepath includes assisting others – Feb 2024
Finally, AOM returned back home to her family from her first semester in college and decided to volunteer her time to assist her community families, schools, and children’s lives by sharing her knowledge, time and energy to develop a better tomorrow.
AOM studied at KLCCDA nursery, Siasa primary, and Utete secondary schools, receiving breakfast from the Grow own Breakfast (GOB) program supported at schools by KCM. She has been the school’s gardening club member since nursery, learning from her father OMM who used to work with KCM in gardening production for feeding the nursery kids. AOM later selected to join the electrical engineering college where KCM supported her father with a computer loan for congratulating and wishing best success in her college educational life.
AOM lost sponsorship support in college which made her father find an affordable teaching college for her daughter. AOM began the teaching training to a new boarding school in rural areas which made her education life difficult because there is not enough science subjects material and teachers in the college to make her dreams happen since she is interested in studying science and doing good.
AOM got sick at the college, and advised for home rest time for ulceration recovery, and decided taking as an opportunity volunteering time to teach Utete Secondary students and assisting KCM in gardening production for students’ breakfast while assisting her father saving for her school fees. This benefits AOM learning and demonstrates organic garden production, and she is ready to work with the coming UK students to grow her English.
AOM’s future plan, when supported in the coming college intake, is to change to taking accounting or chemical and process engineering courses due to its potential to be the backbone of her future better life and the country’s economy, because women taking science have higher priorities in developing countries.
