Siem Reap, KH – Rent-to-Own (RTO) home dream gives LLC family hope for the future – Nov 2023

Rey, manager of Peaksneng Thormacheat shop says that to begin LLC family’s story, I like to share the parable of the sower. The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road, and it was trampled under foot and the birds of the air ate it up. Other seed fell into the good soil, and grew up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great. I Love this parable because it relate to what we have done and to the families we assisted. The sower is Better Lives and its partner Peaksneng Thormacheat shop. The seed is our values and mission. The seeds beside the road are those who have heard and saw our work and were not interested about it. But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who embrace our work with honest heart, hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

This parable tells me the story of of Mr LLC, who was one of the oldest gardeners that our shop team has assisted, he is a seasonal gardener but he never fails to grow vegetable for his family. His perseverance and understanding of the importance of the Food Always In The Home (FAITH) garden has made him what he is now. He learned from Peaksneng Thormacheat that gardening is not only to grow vegetables, but its also a way of life.

Growing a vegetable garden is an opportunity to build a good habit by inviting children to work together in the garden and achieve a common goal. The principle of earning extra income is also very educational. Mr. LLC says “with gardening my children grow up healthy and happy and I am very motivated to work and bring my livelihood into the next level. I have rented a small shop in Peaksneng village for my wife to sell local style bread and I have started a mobile local bread delivery service.

My relation with Peaksneng Shop has encouraged me to work hard because so many families already have their own Rent-to-Own (RTO) home built by the Peaksneng shop construction team. I Hope this story of mine will bring inspiration to others who struggle to find hope for their family. I owe Peaksneng Shop for what I have learnt and this will continue to my children. I have great hope that one day I will qualify for a home in the Peaksneng RTO community near Siem Reap.
