JS is a young man, hardworking and very eager to learn, he grew up as a farmer like his father. From the age he started farming he knows that life is going to be not easy for him, indeed for how many years was he struggling to earn enough income. He was stuck in an old fashion way of agriculture with a lack of knowledge on how, what, and when to grow vegetables. Growing healthy food for his own family is one of the challence. Mostly in the village farmers rely on convensional farming , planting only one crop a year, this leads to problems providing food and earning income because relying on one crop is risky for farmers who want to improve their living conditions.

JS says “But I learnd much more from Sunrise team’s training by example. They taught us to plant and care for a home garden to provide balanced nutrition for our meals. They also taught us how to sell the surplus vegetables we grew, and even taught us how to make our own natural fertilizer.”

“Sunrise shop helped to solve so many of my family’s growing challenges and taught me so much. Now I grow healthy crops by using organic techniques without chemicals. With the result of what I learned, My family, specially my mother who constantly worry about of failing in gardening, now she saw beauful result from my hardwork and the effort of sunrise team to educate and assist farmers. I say thank you.”

The Rising Sun garden shop introcuced the Food always in the Home (FAITH) garden to Juric, and he took part in FAITH garden program supported by the Sunrise shop team. First, he learned effective gardening techniques, including how to make compost, and was encouraged by the good example from families who have FAITH gardens.

JS has dreams for a beautiful future. “I hope to have a better house, a prosperous family, and to help my children finish their studies and earn bachelor’s degrees.”
