Utete, TZ – MAN continues to improve her family life – 30 Sep 2022
MAN continues to improve her family life by volunteering to assist KCM with growing food for the kindergarten children, and receiving a sewing machine loan of 560,000 TZS to start her tailoring business.
The loan is making her dream happen by supplying a sewing machine so she can begin her business in Utete town. The business is running well with a good financial growth shown in her ledger records because she is increasing the number of customers. MAN targeted to earn 8,000 TZS per day to cover all running costs, loan repayment and her time. She earned 47,500 TZS in the first six days of her business and had 30,000 TZS expenses. Asha, who also owns the same type of business and is the KCM accountant, is training her in marketing, keeping a good ledger record, and savings.
MAN is proud to be among vegetable garden volunteer families who are inspired by KCM’s Dickson and Asha because of their businesses commitment, gardening knowledge and general life skills. These two people changed MAN’s life and the community by building trust, volunteering and caring for needy people. Currently MAN is sewing only women and children’s clothes, but her mother SAK and Asha are assisting her with training how to sew men’s clothes so in the future she can have more customers and income.
There is no life without sweat for MAN as a single woman living with her daughter Milham who is three years old going to the KLCCDA kindergarten. They are both believing in a brighter life, because MAN is saving with the Village Community Banking Association (VICOBA) so that one day she can own a home of her own and move out of her parent’s home.
