Moshi, TZ – Building a shop that will contribute to sustainable living – 31 Dec 2021
Tupendane has built a Rent-to-Earn shop in the Oria Village ,Kahe in time to qualify for a discounted mains electricity connection.
It was an opportunity for Tupendane to learn about new building practices that meet the quality requirements for a successfull business premises. It is an early step that adds value to land that was recently purchased to assist families to earn a living and own a home. Tupendane will build Rent-to-Earn (RTE) shops and Rent-to-Own (RTO) homes, so that families can start earning incomes by renting RTE shops, and then hopefully qualify to have a RTO home built for them.
James is applying to be the first shopkeeper to benefit from the new shop construction, and the whole village including the children and teachers of Oria Secondary school will benefit because they will no longer need to walk up to 8Km to purchase home and school supplies.
Deo Matemu, the manager of Tupendane, hopes to use the recent building experience to add more business premises and homes on the land. The objective is to assist children and their families to have a better living in a sustainable cooperating way, where earnings contribute to repaying loans that are invested in building RTE shops and RTO homes. That way the repayments can be used to assist more families in the future.
