Utete, TZ – Dickson successfully meets business targets – 15 October 2019
Dickson Taji, KCM’s Transportation business owner, shows continued success surpassing business expectations within the first quarter of operation.
Before receiving a loan to purchase his own toyo, Dickson was only able to earn a net income of 176,600 TZS ($77 USD) in the first quarter of 2019 while using the KCM toyo. As of the third quarter, Dickson earned over 3 times the first quarter, totaling 561,100 TZS ($246 USD) in net income.
Earning this amount within the first few months of operation gives Dickson a lot of confidence in his business. He is able to make his loan repayments and has appropriately saved portions of his monthly income into maintenance savings to prevent and downtime due to breakdowns.
Dickson continues to face the tough economic conditions of Utete area. The Transportation market frequently shifts in the area based on the current season. He needs to be as flexible and advantageous as possible in order to not fall behind on his targets. He uses a yearly calendar to track transportation opportunities in the area.
He hopes to continue making his targets and earn enough to bring home surplus income that he can use to invest in his family.
