At the age of 27, SODAT Garden Shop employee Shafan is enjoying a home electric connection for the first time. Shafan spent his third quarter performance bonus on connecting his home to new power lines running through Mukibogoye.

His wife and two children are happy to have power, as are the customers who come to his shop and enjoy drinks in his living room. Perhaps even more exciting than the lights is the radio! Shafan’s radio can now stay charged all the time. Customers are happy to enjoy music while they relax and share conversation.

Shafan’s next project is to build an addition to his home that will house his shop. He only hosts customers in his living room because he does not have another place for them to sit. He is looking forward to finishing the addition so that customers have a place to sit and his family has privacy.
