The Mchicha is not doing with in the model garden soil
The KCM garden team are currently harvesting tomatoes, okra, eggplant, Chinese cabbage, mchicha, African eggplant, and soy beans from the model garden. They have been selling all the vegetables to the local community. Mchicha is now not growing as well as it should at the model garden and a phosphorus deficiency is suspected because of the early coloring. The team are looking for ways to amend the soil. They are are ordering rock phosphate from Dar es Salaam, and sourcing bat guano locally, to use as phosphorus rich soil amendments.
