Moshi, TZ – MMC family garden – 13 Sep 2013
The MMC family are looking healthy and happy! They have finished harvesting their tomatoes and have replanted more in the same beds. Their mentor plans to talk about crop rotation during the next monthly visit. They plan to use sticks to hold up their tomato plants so that they don’t lay on the ground. This will help by providing better tomato productivity, and clear pathways between the beds that will result in less insects and it make it easier to harvest the tomatoes.
In order to control his fuel costs, Mr. MMC has been using a bucket and rope to get water from his well to water his garden. This takes up a lot of time and energy, so he is in the process of applying for a prosperity loan from Tupendane for a money maker manual pump.
At the last mentoring visit, the Tupendane garden shop Mr. MMC to make sure that his vegetable beds and pathways are clear of weeds and debris, so that they do not attract bugs.
