Moshi, TZ – LMK family garden – 13 Sep 2013

The LMK family garden’s zucchini are ready for harvest.  Zucchini is a relatively new crop for the Kilimanjaro area, so the LMK family are excited to start eating it.  They have faced some challenges with squash blossom end rot which is cause by a calcium deficiency.  You can prevent squash blossom end rot by amending the soil with lime or spraying the crops at the beginning of the flowering stage with an eggshell calcium spray.
