Utete, TZ – AMN family garden update – 19 Aug 2013

The AMN family garden has had some major problems with termites eating the mulch.  They were attracted to the fibrous grass mulch that she had on her beds.  The termites are no longer a problem now that AMN has replaced the grass mulch with banana leaves and banana stems, and also sprayed with natural pesticides.  Switching to banana leaves also adds potassium to the beds and increases the organic material in the garden.
