Utete, TZ – OAM family garden update – 19 Aug 2013
The demand for the local spinach called mchicha is high in Kindwitwi village, so AOM has decided to plant her two reserve beds with mchicha taking her total number of beds of mchicha to four. She has been able to harvest, eat, and/or sell fresh mchicha every day! The Chinese cabbage has also provided fresh vegetables for her family and her tomatoes are almost ready to be harvested.
Unfortunately, AOM has had some trouble with vervet monkeys coming into her garden and stealing her vegetables. She is currently working with the KCM garden shop to find a solution for thieving monkeys!
