Moshi, TZ – JO family garden update – 26 Jun 2013
JO’s garden was heavily damaged by the flooding in April and May, and he and his wife have started to prepare the garden for replanting, they tilled one and a half beds when the Tupendane team arrived to ask how they could help. Okra, cassava and pumpkins all survived the flooding. The pumpkin did so well that it spread to two other vegetable beds and into the family’s maize field behind the garden.
The family are eating a lot of pumpkin and okra, and they have been planting seedlings in order to restock their garden so that they can consistently feed themselves.
