Battambang, KH – Family profits from pig loan – 28 Feb 2013

The SY family purchased a pair of piglets piglets for $120 to $150 with a loan, which they repaid on schedule when they sold one of the two fattened pigs.  They also earned a profit from the sale!

They kept a female and will now arrange for her to be visited by a boar, who will arrive on the back of a motorcycle, to inseminate her in return for his owner receiving $5 and one piglet from the litter

The family is also applying for another loan that will enable them to buy another pair of piglets, which they plan to fatten up and sell after 5 months.
