Moshi, TZ – LK family garden update – 26 Jun 2013
LK’s family garden was completely destroyed by the floods, with all vegetables washed away. When we arrived (19 June) LK, his wife, and children were working on the area to prepare the land again. They had already re-cleared the land and were about to start forming raised beds ready to replant.
Mr LK suggested that the garden could be moved to an area slightly higher that was unaffected by this year’s floods. It is presently not cleared or in use for anything else but he is prepared to clear the land and form the beds himself if we decide to install another garden. He suggested this because there is little benefit from replanting the original garden due to the risk of flooding next year during the rainy season.
