Moshi, TZ – Kisangasangeni School garden – 13 Dec 2012
The Tupendane team helped the local primary school teachers and pupils start a vegetable garden in mid December, 2012.
The teachers and pupils planted tomato and Chinese cabbage seedlings, and cuttings from cassava and sweet potato. They also planted mchicha, mung beans, sitting beans and Moringa trees, which have been planted all the way around the garden to form a future natural fence.
Half of the garden is turning out to be productive, while sadly half is not! No one is sure why, so the teachers and pupils plan to start a new garden nearby where the local people say that plants have historically grown well.
