Your donation will enable Mawala Primary School to improve student nutrition and food self-reliance by building a vegetable garden that teaches students about organic gardening best practices and empowers them to start a garden at home.

Our local partner will work with the school to maintain the garden and identify students who would benefit from an organic vegetable garden at home. Gardens give schools, students, and families the opportunity to achieve food self-reliance, improve diets, and increase family income and savings.

Tupendane Garden Shop, who partners with Mawala Primary School, currently works with six other schools in Kahe to maintain school gardens. These schools have proven the potential of school gardens to contribute to student nutrition and encourage families to start their own vegetable gardens.
