Sustainable

We work collaboratively with families and schools to find solutions to poverty that are holistic and sustainable. These solutions are designed to let the schools, families, and children set their own pace for life improvement.

People

We collaborate with our partners, who do the same with families and schools, in a way that supports their ownership of the programs. This collaboration is based upon:

Relationship

Based upon trust, responsiveness and mutual benefit so that there can be an enduring collaboration between the partners, families and schools.

Ownership

By the families and schools to help each other and their children to be healthy, educated and able to earn an income.

Knowledge Sharing

So that families and schools can benefit from sharing and using best practices that improve everyone’s lives.

Process

Reducing poverty starts with understanding people’s challenges and the root cause of those challenges. Once the root cause has been identified an appropriate solution is designed by combining processes, people, and parts.

Synergistic Processes

Solutions link together systematically across four lifecycle stages: Design & Build, Protect & Operate, Maintain & Repair, and Improve & Sustain.

Willing and Able People

Successful solutions require people to have the appropriate knowledge, skills, and will to succeed. Training and ongoing mentoring to support people are often important parts of sustainable solution design.

Fit for Purpose Parts

Some solutions require tools, equipment, and materials. It is important to consider which parts will be needed at each of the lifecycle stages, which parts provide lowest total cost of ownership, and whether those parts can be sustainably maintained.

Parts

Sustainable solutions enable families and communities to move towards food, financial, and education self-reliance, by delivering predictable value and continuously improving quality.

Predictable

Create simple and repeatable processes for productive assets to deliver the expected benefits.

Delivers Value

Maximize return on time, energy, and money so that outputs are consistently greater than inputs.

Continuously Improves

Identify root causes of successes and challenges to make small improvements over time and achieve lowest total cost of ownership operating costs.
