Moshi, TZ – Trust is our Growth Capital – May 2026
It is just a second year now for Tupendane’s close relationship with Undugu Mali women Vicoba group, here in the Kahe community. Undugu Mali is a group of dedicated women from more than 60 different families in Kahe bonded together with trust among themselves as a group with the aim of improving their families lives by using different economic and financial strategies.

Their dedication for volunteering to assist our Children’s Grow-own-Breakfast Group (GOB ) for around 800 children at Rau River and Ginja Primary schools has been highly appreciated by Tupendane.
For the members of Undugu Mali group, money is not the only thing that matters. Trusting each other to show up to assist the schools’ vegetable and banana gardens, and repaying loans on time is what makes them strong with trust that works like a productive capital investment in their economic activities.

Last year in 2025 the group benefited from their first loan, which they invested in rice farming. They managed to protect their trust with Tupendane by paying the loan back on time. This showed reliability, which qualified them for a second larger loan for their 2026 rice farming.
The Local government of Rau River Village enjoyed their productive relationship with Undugu Mali and Tupendane in 2025. So was open to a second chance to rent them rice field land. The financial support of the Tupendane loan to the Undugu Mali women Vicoba group means the group has already started their 2026 season of rice farming.
This business activity is expected to raise their families income necessary to nourish their lives and and strengthen their spirits for volunteering working on the Banana and Vegetable gardens necessary for the meals provision to their children at Ginja and Rau River primary. The group has become an important part of the sustainable feeding program’s system of the feeding that Tupendane is building with the community.
Tupendane is seeing this Vicoba collaboration as part of a key strategy for school feeding program sustainability. Tupendane wishes to have it get well established for Vicobas at other schools, in order to bring a sense of sustainability to all partner schools. This dream will come true when more Vicoba’s earn the expansion of Tupendane’s Vicoba support fund in the future.
