Utete, TZ – The government, KCM and Parmiter’s School collaborated to supply water to students – Apr 2026

Finally, CHEM school is proud to own a water tower, bringing a reliable and sustainable water supply that is transforming both health and learning conditions for teachers and students’ lives at school.

With struggling to access clean water to strive with daily school life, to be easier and enjoyable. Through KCM’s Parents Assistance Award Program (PAAAP) and Government Assistance Award Program (GAAP), a 5-foot water tower was constructed at a cost of 1.5 million TZS. The system ensures safe storage and efficient distribution of water across the school.

The government contributed by drilling a 30-meter-deep borehole and installing a pump and a 5,000-liter storage tank, while KCM, with funding from Permiters, built the tower and distribution system. Water is now available for sanitation facilities, classrooms, and the preparation of breakfasts that supports growth in attendance and academic performance.

In July 2026, KCM is preparing to host Permiters volunteers, who will engage in community service activities, including families water connection, establishing an organic garden to strengthen the school breakfast program for CHEM, and BBTT, schools. This initiative aims to further enhance student nutrition, health, and educational outcomes.
