Kilimanjaro, TZ – Lishe Bora mentoring supports gardening, health and education, which changes children’s lives – Apr 2026

The Kisuluni Primary School has marked another step forward with a steady supply of fresh vegetables from the school garden. The children are enjoying a daily breakfast, which is bringing new energy, focus, and happiness into the classroom.

At the heart of this progress is the school’s garden club, where students actively grow and care for vegetables and bananas. This hands-on experience not only supports daily breakfast at school but also equips learners with practical skills in gardening production, teamwork, and sustainability.

This result encourages improved attendance, better concentration, and rising academic performance. Students are also discovering knowledge and skills that benefit their families and their own future livelihoods.

However, short dry periods with unpredictable rains continue to challenge consistent production. To overcome this, the school is planning to enhance its garden and increase banana cultivation, ensuring sufficient harvest supply and breakfast serving sustainably throughout the year.

With Lishe Bora mentoring support, Kisuluni Primary School is creating a future where every child learns with a happy life, because gardening, health and education are growing together!
