Digos City, PH – Jason’s story – Apr 2026
In a quiet village nestled between rolling hills and by a small river, a farmer name Jason Alcain spent 20 years struggling to make ends meet. Despite his hard work, the rising cost of purchasing seeds and fertilizer often left his pockets empty after every harvest.

One afternoon, while resting under a mango tree, Jason met the Sunrise Team. They introduced him to the Faith Garden, a program designed to turn small backyards into a multi crop garden. Looking at the dry, rocky ground around his hut, he was skeptical. “How can life grow here, this is just dust and weeds” he asked. Now his land looks green because the Sunrise Team saw potential where Jason saw none!
Under their guidance, Jason began a quiet transformation by starting to apply the following to his organic garden.
1. Natural Fertilizer – he stopped burning dry leaves and instead turned them into rich compost.
2. Soil Restoration – he mixed the compost into the stony soil.
3. Diverse Crops – he planted a variety of vegetables, including eggplants, beans, taro, and sweet potatoes.

Months later, the rhythm of Jason’s home changed. His family no longer had to walk miles to the market to buy food; their backyard provided what they needed. Empowered by this success, Jason expanded his garden by adding a commercial garden, then selling the high-value crops to gain a better income for the family.
Jason’s success became well known in the village. The man who once struggled with a single crop became a teacher of organic gardening techniques for his neighbors and children. Jason’s journey proves that with heart, the right knowledge, and a little bit of compost, even the stoniest soil can become a paradise. “Thank you to the true organization that really care for us. Thank you to Chico team.” Jason’s words of gratitude!
