Utete, TZ – KCM opens tangible opportunities through GOB program – Mar 2026
KCM continues to make progress by expanding and promoting its Grow-Own-Breakfast (GOB) program across five project schools, by being awarded a government tender to produce cashew seedlings to benefit the community.

Leveraging its experience in organic gardening, the KCM team has been selected to produce 24,000 cashew seedlings, to be distributed to over 2,000 farmers. This initiative aims to support environmental conservation while creating future income opportunities from cashew production.
The government has provided seeds, technical training, and TZS 450,000 / US$ 185 for operational costs. KCM expects that the project will generate a profit of approximately TZS 1 million / US$ 400 during the 90-day project period.

This initiative aims to boost farmers’ incomes while promoting sustainable land use, while also strengthening access to reliable markets. KCM plans to expand this model by investing further in seedlings for fruits, vegetables, and cashew to sustain income generation and community development.
