Ngara, TZ – Parents Assistance Award Program (PAAP) repairs a teacher’s house – Feb 2026
KBL Primary School extends its heartfelt appreciation to SODAT and its partner Better Lives (BL) for funding the completion of a teachers’ house, transforming it from an unfinished structure into a safe and dignified home.

The project, valued at eight million shillings, was undertaken after strong winds tore off the roof of the previous house, forcing teachers to live in difficult rented conditions in the village for nearly a year. Today, the school proudly owns a quality teachers’ residence that provides comfort, stability, and a supportive environment for effective teaching.
During the handover ceremony, the school committee and village leaders expressed sincere gratitude to SODAT and its manager, DKG, for their strong partnership and careful supervision throughout the construction process. The new house will enable the project’s teacher to remain on campus full time, strengthening collaboration with the student club and SODAT team in managing school gardens and crop production of maize and beans for the sustainable breakfast program.
In June 2026, parents committed to contributing maize for the year-round school breakfast program: KBL (8,000 kg), MKR (6,000 kg), and MKB (9,500 kg). This collective effort ensures that students receive breakfast every school day until the next harvest season in June.
SODAT, together with the school committee and parents, plans to continue improving the school environment by planting windbreak trees and renovating another teachers’ house to prevent leaks. These efforts aim to strengthen supervision, improve attendance, and enhance academic performance, building a brighter future for the children’s lives.
