Kilimanjaro, TZ – Lishe Bora assists program schools to address challenges – Feb 2026
Lishe Bora (LB) in collaboration with Kisuluni Primary School is making progress in growing student health and learning conditions. One of its key achievements is the development of a school garden that supports a sustainable breakfast program, helping increase attendance and academic performance.

The weekly mentor visits to the school to provide guidance on proper garden care. Working with the Garden Club and the project’s teacher, practices gardening to ensure sustainable lifecycle harvests. Despite seasonal water shortages from drought, the school uses a water storage spring for irrigation and applies mulching techniques to preserve soil moisture and maintain productivity.

However, LB in collaboration with school leadership are making a call to mobilize and encourage parents and other partners’ contributions to improve the kitchen to a comfortable air circulation for cooks and students, better health and safety, repair desks to reduce overcrowding, and repair leaking roofs to ensure a comfortable learning environment in classes.

LB believes that strong academic performance begins with a healthy and supportive environment. Through sustainable school feeding and improved infrastructure, Kisuluni Primary School is building a stronger foundation for students’ health, learning, and future success.
