The Tunaweza VICOBA Group (TVG) is creating a self-reliance path for members after receiving official registration as a Village Community Banking (VICOBA) Group under the legal number KAG/NGA/VIJ/2025/0063. This achievement not only affirms the group’s legal standing, but also strengthens trust among its members, the community, government authorities, and development partners.
Formally, known as Mazingira Vicoba Group (MVG), and now registered to Tunaweza Vicoba Group (TVG) with a mission to grow the economy of its members through each week savings culture, accessing affordable credit with less interest, and encouraging of small-scale entrepreneurship to generate a predictable daily income. The group is committed to improving families and children’s lives, and fostering a sustainable community development.
TVG is expanding by access growth capital, and engaging in impactful community projects that help families to achieve their dreams, like trading crops, coffee and tree seedlings to grow their savings.
TVG also has set ambitious plans to own a land to launch a commercial milling station for flour delivery to consumers, families and institutions. The by-products will be converted into high-quality livestock feeds for poultry, cattle, and pig farmers. Additionally, TVG plans to build a grain storage stock to support members and the wider community in managing post-harvest losses and protecting against market volatility with less costs. This initiative will help ensure families food security and stable income for the long-term sustainability of the group.
