Kilimanjaro, TZ – Kisuluni Primary School breakfast impacts students and teachers lives – Jul 2025
With the mentorship and support of Lishe Bora, parents and dedicated school staff, Kisuluni Primary School is providing a daily breakfast to 74 students and 4 teachers with a Grow–own-Breakfast (GOB) program. The parents are committed to contributing corn and beans that are combined with vegetables and bananas to ensure the school children are well-fed and attending class.

The program’s school garden, which has 30 banana trees and 27 beds planted with various vegetables, contributes positively to the student’s nutrition, health, class attendance, and academic performance.
Looking ahead, Kisuluni plans to plant 20 more banana trees, and improve the garden irrigation system to increase the year-round production. This will contribute to sustainable breakfast provision and selling surplus produce to finance garden running costs, building a proper kitchen and toilet block, and school security.
