Kilimanjaro, TZ – Family dreams of expanding their animal feed business – 28 Feb 2022

The AT family are happy and committed to earning income from growing and selling vegetables on their land, and saving some of the vegetable income with the Kirua Village Community Banking (VICOBA) group, so that they can invest their savings in growing their animal feed business.

They sell 3 bunches of Kale a day for a total of 1,500 TZS / US$ 0.66, putting part of the income into the VICOBA savings account and using the rest for home basic needs.

They also collect animal feed based on the orders they receive. They want to rent a feed storeroom because this will enable them to grow the business. Their dream is to keep saving with the VICOBA and qualify for business improvement loans, so that the animal feed business can build up a sustainable feed supply and income.
