Battambang, KH – Trying to make time for after school classes – 30 Oct, 2019

YS’s 2 grandchildren go to school. YL is now in Grade 7 of lower secondary school. She has been a good student in primary school, because she always tries so hard in study because she has not received as much tuition as the children who have been able to afford additional classes after regular school hours. Her success is that she passed her exams and is now able to attend lower secondary school.

However, her situation does not make it easy for her to study, because the lower secondary school is about 2km from her home. She has to get up early to walk to school when she cannot ride with a friend on their bicycle.

Her grandfather has seen her difficulty, and is saving some money to buy her a bicycle but he does not know when that will be possible.

Liheang is hoping to get a bicycle soon, so that she can have time to attend classes after school. Classes that will make it possible for her to pass her exams and continue her education.
