CWC's children helping with the organic vegetable gardenCWC and his family work very hard to improve their lives. They have consistently maintained a productive garden, fattened pigs, raised cows, and now are farming fish. They earn US$30 per month by selling vegetables from their garden and are eager to expand it further.

They plan to purchase an adjacent piece of land to grow an additional 700 square meters worth of vegetables. This could Potentially provide an additional income of US$70 per month. In the future this land could be used for his children to build their own homes and start their own families.

CWC and family show off their home made fish pondThe family’s skill at caring for livestock grows each day as they keep: six cows, two pigs and sixty chickens which they use for consistent food and income. CWC has recently built a small fish pond where he is farming five hundred tilapia. He estimates that in three months he has harvested 50kg of tilapia from his small fish pond. This would be worth US$125 if he sold them, however, he uses the fish to feed his family of seven every day. This saves them a lot of money at the market.

Although, CWC is increasing his income through many different activities; his large family still live in a small home. He is saving to expand his house so that everyone can sleep comfortably. CWC also dreams of continuing to increase his family’s earning potential, so that he can send his children to university in the future.
