Caba, PH – T family want to save for an electricity connection – 12 May 2013

Cora and the Happy Shine Garden shop team visited the T family and their five children to see how they and their garden are doing during the high temperatures before the rains start.  They have a water supply, so their garden is continuing to be productive.

Now that they are not having to buy vegetables to feed their family and are earning money from selling vegetables they have more money each month and are thinking about purchasing an electricity connection so that their children can study at night.  They dream of buying a television in the future so that their children can watch the news and be able to complete their homework assignments about current events.  At the moment, their children visit a neighbor’s home that has a TV when they have current events homework assignments.

It will be important to save for the connection fees and also prepare the home for the electricity connection by making it water tight, so the garden shop team will look for a solar light to lend them until they have the electricity connection.  The shop is also going to design a way to help the family save for the connection.
