Utete, TZ – OAM Family Garden – 9 Dec 2013

The OAM family garden is one of the most productive gardens in Kindwitwi. The garden continues to produce food on a regular basis and the family has even been successful at growing a diverse range of crops. The family has enjoyed beans, eggplants, tomatoes, okra, peppers, onions, and leafy greens. Recently, the family decided to keep the leafy-green vegetables for home use and to sell tomatoes, eggplants, and additional leafy-green vegetables. The family earned 12,000Tsh ($8) for their vegetables. The next challenge for the family will be to replant the harvested beds and continue to keep the productivity of their garden high.
